My Granddad recently passed away from mesothelioma which is an aggressive terminal cancer of the lung caused by exposure to asbestos, he was only 65.

May the 30th of this year will be his 66th birthday and I am organising a fundraising event.

Myself, my nan (his wife) and a couple of close friends will be doing a charity walk from YDH-where he spent a lot of time at the Macmillan Unit and was cared for so well, to West Bay where he spent his last summer in his caravan which he loved so much. In total the walk is 22 miles. We will be doing it to raise money for The June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund which encourages and sponsors research and clinical trials as well as raising awareness of the disease which unfortunately will become a lot more diagnosed in the upcoming years.

Many thanks
