knotsAs part of the late Christmas shopping festivities, Bridport Museum welcomed visitors in for mince pies, mulled wine and the chance to make and donate any knot of their choosing, to become part of an artwork which will be launched at the Museum next year.

Artist, Nancy J Clemance, will be gathering in knotty donations via her Knot Booth, at various locations over the coming months and using them in her work for the New Opportunities Award commission.

Angry villagers from Monkton Wyld in West Dorset, which has been without phone line or broadband since mid October have formed an action group — The Monkton Wyld Cut Off Group — to put pressure on British Telecom to repair the line.

The group claims that BT have been difficult to contact, and when contacted villagers have been given incorrect information by BT employees who didn't seem to know what was happening.

To oppose the construction of 760+ houses at Vearse Farm, Symondsbury, Bridport and to remove the proposal from the Local Plan sign the petition at

West Beach at West Bay is undergoing 'beach re-nourishment' to offer better protection against future flooding.

bobBridport’s iconic Electric Palace Theatre is up for sale. Owner Peter Hitchin has decided to call it a day after running the entertainment venue for the past seven years.

It goes on the market with Savills in September with a price tag of £550,000
Mr Hitchin said: “It’s been an enjoyable business to own but it’s a ‘lifestyle’ business which needs new enthusiasm and commitment. I’m looking for the right person or company to take it over.
