Bradpole Parish Council is very concerned that many people are still confused about the EXACT proposed location of the Waste Transfer Station within the Parish of Bradpole.
Many residents and non residents seem to be under the impression that the proposed site is within the existing Gore Cross Industrial Estate – it is not. The site is located on land north of Watford Lane which leads from the A3066 into the village of Pymore. At this time the proposed site is in green fields owned by a local farmer.
Since this location was proposed permission has been granted for the Lidl store in St Andrews Road and to site the new ambulance station at Gore Cross Industrial Estate, both of which will add to the traffic congestion on an already busy route used by school children to go to and fro every day.
Therefore it is very important that should a planning application be submitted for this site people are FULLY aware of the proposed location.
Bradpole Parish Council are opposed to any planning application on the following grounds:
1. The proposed site will encroach into and be very intrusive in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
2. The site will lead to a significant increase in traffic volumes on an already busy road, namely A3066.
3. The probability of an increase in the volume of local traffic using the minor roads and lanes in the villages of Bradpole and Pymore causing further congestion and safety issues for residents.
4. The proposed site has been rejected by two Independent Enquiry reports on environmental; grounds.
