This special masterclass, led by Ben Osborne, will visit Portland on a summer evening, meeting at the Bill at 5pm and staying out until the stars are visible. The idea is to try and capture the evening light and the twilight atmosphere as the light fades. There’s plenty of subject matter including the famous Pulpit Rock, old quarries, rusty cranes, a spectacular lighthouse, the “Bill” itself and its famous tide race.
Unlike other Jurassic Journey workshops, this session will be out of doors the whole time. Participants won’t need much in the way of specialist kit but this is one workshop where a tripod or beanbag will be extremely useful. Otherwise, a camera, warm (waterproof) clothing, decent footwear, a torch and a positive attitude will be the main requirements. There will be some walking on rough ground but no more than a mile or two.
