The first female to ever win the Perrier Award, Jenny Éclair is returing to Bridport with her new stand up show ‘Eclairious’ on 24 November, 8pm.
You may recognise her from TV, small screen highlights include, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, the ‘Grumpy Old Women’ series, plus the ‘Grumpy Guides’, ‘Grumpy Holidays’ and ‘It’s Grim up North’. She is also a regular on Loose Women where she is happy to be one of ‘The Coven’.
“After 30 years in the business she should vaguely know what she’s doing,” organisers said. “Professional Grumpy Old Woman, writer and panto star, Eclair has been round the block that many times she’s lost count.
“Touring as a stand-up gives Eclair enormous pleasure; it also gives her dreadful varicose veins, but most importantly it gives her partner (St. Geof) a bit of a break.”
The new show follows her Old Dog, New Tricks Tour which sold out on on two nights at the Arts Centre in 2010. In a review of this show BAC suporter Tricia Hawkins said “On Saturday Jenny Éclair was responsible for a serious outbreak of uncontrollable mirth at Bridport Arts Centre. If laughter is the best medicine, then a couple of hours in the company of this exhilarating woman will do you more good than any other alternative therapy. But be warned – your stomach muscles will need time to recover afterwards”.
