Fanny’s Meadow festival , June 2nd -5th, secret Somerset Location (not too far from Langport !)
Now in our 4th Year Fanny’s Meadow is gathering a nice head of steam, attracting independent musicians, performers, crafts people, film makers, chefs, artisans and families from across the UK and Europe.
Set in the lowlands of Somerset the 4 day event is filled with entertainment from over 40 acts, some of the finest emerging independent original songwriters, instrumentalists and contemporary composers on our shores.
Profits from the event go towards funding their independent music projects.
Our small 1000 capacity event is completely Family friendly , with activities and performances providing something for all ages, you can even bring well behaved dogs on leads with the necessary collection bags!
The children’s area offers forest school crafts, fancy dress parades, story telling and shadow puppet workshops, to list just a few activities.
Our young songwriters stage, provides a platform for budding musicians under 18 and our open fronted tipi provides a chill out area for teens; and it’s just close enough to the communal camp fire and bar for them to keep an eye on us !
The Moth Bar will be serving cocktails, real coffee and snacks late into the night.
The main bar serves a fine example of locally produced beers and ciders as well as wines and spirits.
And there’s a rumour that illusive 3 star Michelin chef Rolan Dack , of “Ronnie Saunders Diner Union” ,will be providing all of the delicious food in our café.
With 2 gently amplified stages, an acoustic stage in the café and jamming lounges across the site you will be able to find and even learn music form a wide range of genres.
Our market place is more of a ‘make and do’ than a buy and hoard experience, with all stalls offering a free craft activity for you (or the children to try) while you shop. You can have a go at stone carving, ceramics, circus skills and aerial workshops.
Wild camping throughout the meadow, with camper vans and caravans welcome in the adjoining camper van field, state of the art compost loos and a stand pipe with the added joy , this year, of the Stick and Stones Sauna, in a 1950’s army truck.
All of this and much more, set in a beautiful working willow orchard on the banks of a slow flowing river.
