Aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage business owners in and around in west Dorset are invited to a free Start Up Business Breakfast next month, designed to bring local people together to share experiences, make connections and find out about the support available to help them move their business forward.
Taking place on Wednesday 11 November 2026, 9-11am at The Bull Hotel in Bridport, the informal morning event is being delivered by business advisory firm Evolve in partnership with Dorset Council.
Whether someone is thinking about starting a business or is already in the early stages of running one, the breakfast will provide an opportunity to meet other local entrepreneurs, hear first-hand experiences from business owners and tap into practical advice and support.
Over breakfast, attendees will hear from local entrepreneurs who will share their experiences of starting and running businesses in Dorset, including the challenges, successes and lessons they have learned along the way.
The speakers will share their own entrepreneurial journeys, from taking the initial step into business ownership, to developing new ideas and adapting along the way.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and make new connections, alongside advice around common start up challenges and information about finance, local business networks and further support available.
David Mutton, Business Advisor at Evolve, said: “Starting a business can be exciting, but it can also feel quite daunting, particularly when you are trying to work everything out on your own.
“These breakfasts are about bringing people together locally, creating a relaxed space to ask questions, hear from people who have been there themselves and find out what support is available.
“There are many fantastic businesses and entrepreneurs across west Dorset and we want to make it easier for people in and around Shaftesbury to connect with that support and with each other.”
The Bridport breakfast forms part of a wider programme of start-up business support being delivered by Evolve in partnership with Dorset Council, with Business Breakfasts and practical workshops taking place in communities across the county.
The event is free to attend, but places are limited and registration is required.
