Bridport Bowie is on the move! Tokyo band i-Nichi fly from Japan to play at Clocktower Records!
The iconic and instantly recognisable model of David Bowie which has enthralled locals and visitors alike in the window of Clocktower Too at the Electric Palace South Street, Bridport is on the move soon. Fear not though, he is returning to his mothership a five-minute walk away. Bowie will take up residence in the original, zany, specialist record shop Clocktower Records situated in St. Michaels Estate in the Industrial heritage area of this vibrant Dorset Market town ready to oversee an intergalactic takeover of vinyl record sales.
Owner and founder of Clocktower Records, Roy Gregory has made the decision to revamp the main shop by closing Clocktower Too and concentrating on a new and exciting objective, to be probably the most fun record shop in the galaxy, with ground control located in the original, award-winning Bridport shop. And judging by the visitors who pour into his shop knowing they will be guaranteed a warm welcome and comprehensive selection of all genres of music on vinyl and CD, Roy is spot on with his vision!
Clocktower Records is still very much open for business selling and buying collectible and covetable, pre-loved vinyl whilst the revamp steams ahead turning this legendary Victorian factory space into visually innovative sci-fi inspired shop selling records. Roy has the vision to take his business up and beyond the ordinary, creating a destination visitor experience where customers can browse amongst our alien pals, chat, learn about music and either start or add to their record collections. Employing local creative talent, the shop is swiftly morphing into a Sci-Fi fantasy space, using state of the art technology and creativity to open the floor for even more rack space for records, whilst still ensuring it’s the coolest place in the Southwest to hang out and learn about music.
Lift off for the Clocktower Record revamp is scheduled for the beginning of the summer season, so watch this space for exciting launch promotions coming out over the next month, starting with the last spectacular live event on Friday 31st May 2024, before all events are retired for a season into a time capsule of past glory. Ultimately this will enable the crew at Clocktower Records to concentrate on selling and buying records whilst sponsoring wider cultural and community events in Bridport.
