Prepare for something new from Africa with The Vocal Ensemble of Africa who perform at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday 29 April at 8pm.
The six singers from six countries combine to create music of astounding power. Passionate harmonies, rich melodies and vocal textures that are deep as the ocean are fused together by the six singers Juwon Ogungbe (Nigeria); Eugene Makuta (Congo), Zyta Zebini (Ivory Coast), Essence Kasozi (Uganda) and Noni Nhlapo (South Africa) and Thomas Moyo (Zimbabwe).
The result is uplifting music that redefines what is African music today. The combinations of many influences create music without borders. This is an epic music that swells with emotion.
