Travel back in time to a darkened room in 1892, with acclaimed Cornish production company, Trifle Gathering Productions. This new play written by Nick Whitby and Kyla Goodey, is an all-encompassing trip into the world of Victorian mediums and promises to be a great night’s entertainment.
Lettie Ogden has a gift. Born in 1867, the youngest of four girls, Lettie begins to experience ‘raps’ from the other side following the tragic deaths of her father and twin sister. Desperate to escape the brutal upbringing inflicted on them by hated housekeeper Mrs Skunt, her two older sisters take it upon themselves to take their show on the road and to share Lettie’s gift with anyone who will listen.
With the help of a Spiritual Telephonic Diaphragm which allows them to communicate directly with The Beyond, the famous sisters take audiences on a journey to the astral plane. What they discover there, is at once sad, funny and heartening. A testament to the power of story-telling, A CURIOUS EVENING OF TRANCE AND RAP WITH THE OGDEN SISTERS is an intimate theatrical experience unravelling the stories of three women who made believe in other, kinder worlds.

Described as ‘a trio of female Tommy Coopers’ the show is in the territory of Spike Milligan, a bit of Python and a fair smattering of the Goons, all set in a Victorian atmosphere.
