Shonaleigh Cumbers returns for the third year to the Story Café at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday 15 May with a tale that crosses cultures, The Diamond Girl & The Goat-Horn Bee. This is a story about a day when everything changes – what should have been the happy ending is the beginning of the nightmare. A blessing has become a curse and the only thing that can save them all is a firewolf, an icefish, a snow tear and a goat-horn bee.
Described as ‘a modern day Shaharazad’, Shonaleigh is a drut’syla, an oral storyteller in the Jewish tradition, with an extraordinary cache of hundreds of tales learned as a child from her grandmother. She is one of the foremost storytellers on the British scene, appearing at venues around the country as well as travelling globally.
