Ropewalk Fair- It’s Nearly Here!

A bustle of activity is happening behind the scenes as we draw closer to the Ropewalk Fair which takes place on Sunday 10th May at 11.00 – 4.00pm on the Millennium Green.

Fair tickets – just £1 – are now available from Bridport TIC, or in Bucky Doo on Saturday 2nd and 9th May.  The entry ticket doubles as a raffle ticket and we are pleased to announce an array of fabulous prizes including a goal net donated by Huck Nets, a family pass to Wookey Hole Caves, family tickets to the Bridport Food Festival and Melplash show, and tickets to the Jurassic Fields Music Festival.

tugowarIn the week running up to the Fair there will be a Heritage Exhibition at the Town Hall, and don’t forget the guided factory tours by Amsafe, Huck and Coastal Nets. Phone: 01308 458703 to book your place.

There is still time to sign up for the tug of war- teams of 6 can enter for £10 and compete to be named the strongest team in Bridport!  To receive your form email: office@bridportmuseum.co.uk or phone: 01308 458703. If you don’t already have a team, you can come and sign up on the day. If tug of war isn’t your thing, then there’s always the mass-skipping event and you can buy your Bridport-made skipping ropes now from the Tourist Information Centre or the Museum.

We are also very pleased to announce an array of wonderful local food producers who will happily fill empty stomachs, and cater for a variety of tastes at the fair. Food stalls will include Tia’s BBQ who cook a range of South African barbecued delights; and Noodlehead, who are now well-known local for their tasty Thai food.  In addition Steve Duke will be selling Bridport’s favourite ice creams and the Friends of Bridport Museum have organised a cream tea tent!
