Calling all pub quizzers who love books and literature!
Palmers Brewery is holding a special quiz night at 11 of its pubs in support of Bridport Literary Festival.
The quiz takes place on Wednesday 18 October 2023 and the money raised will be donated to the festival, affectionately known as BridLit, which is a registered charity.
The quiz is open to teams of up to six and the winning team in each pub will receive free guided tours of Palmers’ historic brewhouse in Bridport.
BridLit director Tanya Bruce-Lockhart said: ‘We are very grateful to Palmers Brewery for their generous support. As well as the main festival, we are involved in extensive local charitable work.
‘BridLit funds a university bursary scheme for Colfox and Beaminster Year 13 students, supports Read Easy Bridport, part of the Read Easy Trust, a national organisation helping to develop adult literacy, and supports The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares, a Bridport- based charity which aims to inspire creative writing in children.’
Palmers chairman and managing director John Palmer said: ‘Palmers are delighted to be supporting the Bridport Literary Festival 2023.
‘Its charitable work is very important for the local community and each year the festival draws visitors to the area from far and wide.
‘The traditional pub quiz is a great opportunity to test your general knowledge with friends whilst raising money to support this local charity and its endeavours’.
