Local film maker Terry Tkachuk is testing the waters to see whether anyone would be interested in helping him form a documentary film making group in the Bridport area.
The idea is to actively make documentaries to record the issues, subjects and people that make up the market town’s contemporary life. Important too, is to capture the social ties that bind the community as well as bringing alive the ever new phases of our changing heritage in this corner of the south-west. The group could use film to celebrate the historic, cultural, social and industrial heritage of the Bridport.
Once made, our films can be shown locally and in festivals: they will also be a visual testament for future generations. The idea is that we remain independent and make documentaries that we think are significant and important.
Every place has its own special qualities and our heritage is undergoing change so this is an exciting time to put Bridport on the screen. If this – or part of this – appeals to you please contact terrytkachuk@hotmail.co.uk
