Pierrepoint Exhibitions

The Pierrepoint is celebrating 10 years of exhibitions, events and beautiful work. The gallery is celebrating the success with exhibitions and plans for a new art cafe.

Chris Day owner of the gallery in South Street has managed the studio after he came to Bridport by chance over a decade ago. Being the first gallery in Bridport he has seen how the town has grown into a haven for all art lovers and artists.

The gallery launches into the New Year with an exhibition in February to celebrate David Hockney’s latest exhibition. The gallery will be showing work by Yorkshire water colour painter Anthony Bamber.

Next in March local artist John Walker will be showing a collection of his latest work with some of his unseen paintings of Ringstead, Weymouth and Osmington.

Chris Day, Owner and Manager of The Pierrepoint said: ‘I can’t believe how fast it has gone, but I’m delighted I’m still here especially with the recent tough times. It just shows how the need for good quality art never goes and how Bridport is becoming the place to buy art.

He added ‘There are exciting things going on in Bridport especially down at St Michaels it’s a treat to be surrounded by such wonderful work and to be part of such a spirit of enterprise. It gives the place a real sense of community.’

The exhibitions start in February and there will be regular events and exhibitions.
