The open market price of scrap iron goes through the roof as River Cottage expands into new markets. Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall has expanded the River Cottage Brand by competing in the open market for scrap metal, once it was buffalo mozzarella on placenta now it's an Electrolux Wellington followed by Smeg Souffle.
The Axminster foodie haven has become a recycling centre for used electrical appliances under the latest government scrappage scheme, dead fridges, once seen as a blot on the landscape are now fetching sky rocketing prices on the international scrap exchange HQ based in Skilling, Bridport, Dorset.
The number crunchers at the River Cottage HQ are quick on the heels of any emerging markets and work hard to exploit the brand.
