Bob Marley Birthday Bash Featuring Mizizi – Saturday 18 February, 8pm.
Come to Bridport Arts Centre for a night of live reggae music with some of the best current reggae artists in the South West.
Featuring MIZIZI and friends Jashwha Moses and Dallas, it’s a night of roots culture not to be missed. (Mizizi is a word that simply means ‘respectroots’ in Swahili) were drawn together by the band’s drummer and what has become a rapidly realized vision of a great-sounding and partying live reggae act. Taking no short-cuts in anchoring the band’s sound with all the ingredients of traditional reggae, Mizizi features an entertaining combination of three male and female lead vocalists and has its own brilliant four-piece horn section. Combine this with excellent keyboards, guitars, drums and percussion to complete the line-up; along with occasional guests, a little experimentation, and a lively style; the result is a reggae force not to be missed.
