The Local History Centre is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, year round, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm, and at other times by appointment. It is advisable to ring in advance to reserve a space and to check that we are open.
There is no charge to use the centre but as we are a small Registered Charity donations are very much appreciated. Museum staff and volunteers are on duty to assist you and can undertake research on your behalf, at a reasonable fee, if you are unable to visit the centre in person.

The Local History Centre has computers, microfilm and microfiche readers. A small charge is made for their use and it is advisable to telephone in advance to reserve them.
We hold a World subscription to www.ancestry.co.uk which gives access to a huge amount of data relevant to family historians.
