Chilli Festival

Bringing the exciting world of chillies to the beautiful surroundings of Dorset for the fourth year, the Dorset Chilli Festival is a great day out for chilli enthusiasts, food lovers and families. Held with the kind permission of the Earl of Shaftesbury at St Giles Park, we’ve lined up a glorious August weekend of “chilli fiesta”, with stalls selling all things chilli, from pepper plants to cayenne condiments and seeds to ceramics. Artisan food producers and spicy street food vendors will be on hand with a whole host of options for lunch, and when all that heat gets a little too much, our ice cream vendors will cool you down!

If you don’t want to burn your fingers, let the pros do the work, and sit back to watch cooking demonstrations from top chefs, as well as talks from some of the best spice retailers and chilli growers. After all that excitement, grab a pint from our beer or cider tents and chill out in the music tent, or take the children along to our amazing falconry displays.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve invited some of the most dedicated independent sauce manufacturers and retailers to go head-to-head in a blind tasting competition, judged by the public in the Tasting Tent. For the more green-fingered among you, some of the country’s best specialist chilli growers will be showcasing their plants and seeds in our Exhibition tent. At the end of the day, we’ll be rounding things off with our infamous chilli eating competion; strictly not for the feint hearted!

The development of the Dorset Naga, at one time reputed to be the world’s hottest chilli, has really put Dorset on the map for chilli enthusiasts, so come and join us at this fun, friendly festival guaranteed to be Dorset’s hottest event!

The Great Dorset Chilli Fest takes place on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd August 2014 at St Giles House, Wimborne St Giles, Dorset. For more details go to: www.greatdorsetchillifestival.co.uk
