Friday 10th June – GRANDMASTER FLASH
Turntable scratch guru and legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash appears for one night only at Bridport’s Electric Palace, spinning his classics, ‘White Lines’ and ‘The Message’. A rare and truly class act not to be missed.
Sunday 19th June – SWAN LAKE (Bolshoi ballet)
The breathtaking classic by Tchaikovsky in which good and evil intertwine: Odette, a beautiful princess, is turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. Choreography by Yury Grigorovich.
Saturday 25th June – SHOOGLENIFTY
Groundbreaking Scottish mavericks Shooglenifty push the word ‘traditional’ to its limits with their unique blend of dance vibes and roots music. Genuinely genre defying, they have been described as everything from “acid croft” to “hypnofolkadelia.” Journalists may compete for words to describe, but all agree they are virtually impossible not to dance to and one of the best live bands of their genre around. Over the past dozen or so years Shooglenifty’s unique twist on trad has won them an extensive and devoted fanbase not only across Europe, the US and Australasia, but as far afield as India, Malaysia and Japan.

Thursday 30th June – THE CHERRY ORCHARD STARRING ZOE WANAMAKER (National Theatre Live)
Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard will be directed by NT Associate Director Howard Davies, whose recent productions of Russian plays (including Philistines, Burnt by the Sun and The White Guard) have earned huge critical acclaim. Zoë Wanamaker will play Madame Ranevskaya.
