A celebration of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible and its contribution to English language and culture. Three local speakers read well-known passages on a theme – of ‘beauty’ (Sunday July 3) and ‘hope’ (Wednesday July 6).

FAMILY FOSSIL DAY
Fossil hunters Paddy Howe and Chris Andrew are in the museum all day to talk and answer questions on the big fossils of the Jurassic Coast – ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs and fish. View the museum’s impressive fossils and take this rare opportunity to see Paddy and Chris’s personal collections. Bring your own fossils for identification.

EXHIBITION AT LYME REGIS MUSEUM IN JULY
Where the Brass Band Plays
Peter Wiles’ photography celebrates Lyme Regis in the full-blown colour of summertime. These images of his town convey the energy and enthusiasm of visitors and local people when Lyme is en fête: The excitement of Lifeboat Week when the Red Arrows appear overhead, or the lively activity of the harbour at Regatta and Carnival time; the fireworks, town band performances, sandcastle-building, or just paddling, rockpooling or eating ice cream – all bright, colourful and fun! Exhibition runs from July 6 to September 4.
