Storyteller Emily Hennessey and sitar player extraordinaire Sheema Mukherjee have been fusing live storytelling and music for many years, specialising in Indian mythology with music that draws on both Indian classical and contemporary traditions. With a style that is highly accessible and deeply engaging, they have toured a wide range of venues including the British Museum, Soho Theatre and York Theatre Royal and this summer the duo returns to Dorset to present a day filled with stories and music at Litton Cheney Community Hall on Thursday 8 August.
Emily & Sheema will be performing their children’s show inside their StoryDen bell-tent in the grounds of the hall at 11am and 3pm, and then sharing their adult show, Holy Cow, on stage in the main hall that evening at 7:30pm.
