Thursday 17th – Charlotte Glasson Band – 8:30pm – The Ropemakers is very pleased to welcome back a very special group of musicians who play their very own style of music that can be loosely described as jazz, although it encompasses a mass of styles. Charlotte hersef has plyed with Oasis, P J Proby, The Divine Comedy, Will Young, Jah Wobble amongst many others. Friday 18th – The Dolmen – 9:15pm – A busy year for these fine medieval pirate folk rockers from Weymouth as they have spent a good part of the year in Europe, and the rest of it writing and recording thier new album “Storm”. As always, this promises to be a great night of pirate folks getting up and being generally blasted. Have a gander.
Saturday 19th – The Krays – 9:15pm – Genuine Punk / Rock / Ska band. Brilliant the first time round, hope they go down well again.
Monday 21st – Sunset Cafe Stompers – 8:15pm – Sunset Cafe Stompers play exciting traditional jazz in the style of the New Orleans pioneers. The band takes its name from the famous night-spot on Chicago ‘s South Side, owned by Al Capone, where Louis Armstrong once played.
Friday 25th – Zora & the Tatsmiths – 9:15pm – Folk-roots sensation Zora & the Tatsmiths burst onto the Brighton music scene in spring 2009. They quickly gained reputation with their fresh, punky, folk-pop sound and their raw, outspoken and often funny lyrics. Fronted by Zora’s powerful, gritty and soulful vocals, the Tatsmiths have been leaving revellers with a lingering earworm and a rhythm in their step throughout the southeast and further!Starting 2010 with a fantastic performance at ‘Brighton Pride’, The Tatsmiths had a storming year playing at events such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Secret Garden and Brunswick festivals, finishing the year by recording their second EP, The Casablanca Sessions.Set, this year, to take their audacious yet charming songs around the southwest in May, the crew are already on the bill for festivals such as Strawberry Fair, Boomtown and Playgroup, to name but a few.Current line up includes members of festival favourites Los Albertos and Tragic roundabout; playing sax and drums. Seatrees are an awesome live party band! One of the most loved adaptable bands in the area will provide you with a truly epic night of entertainment every time!
