Weldmar Hospicecare are challenging the Dorset public to prove how fearless they can be – by taking on their Firewalks this October.
Just as the name suggests, this is a barefoot walk over red-hot embers, measuring around 800 degrees Fahrenheit!
This year there are three opportunities to walk – on:
- Friday 21st October 2016 at Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Burton Bradstock
- Sunday 23rd October 2016 at Bryanston School in Blandford
- Friday 28th October at Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester
and all start at 6pm.
Katie Slade, Events Fundraiser for Weldmar, said “Our Firewalks will be the most inspirational journeys our supporters will ever undertake. There are no tricks and no special effects. It’s just them and the challenge”.
Last year’s Weldmar Firewalk event was a huge success, and the brave walkers raised a total of over £5,000 between them.
There is still time to register; if you are ready to brave the hot coals. The registration fee is just £20.

Katie said, “There is no scarier place to be this October than standing on the edge of a fire pit ready to take on the hottest, shortest and most daring sponsored walk you’ll ever do!”
Weldmar are also inviting anyone who wants to support the walkers to come and cheer walkers along, dressed in your best Halloween gear for lots of spooky fun.
The walks will start at 7pm – with Firewalkers being asked to arrive by 6pm for their briefing.
