VEGTASTIC: This year’s National Vegetable Society Championships, being held at Dorset County Show on 5-6 September, promises to be a real 24-carrot event.
The championships were launched this week at Green Valley Farm, Godmanstone, in Dorset by two special mascots, Tina Tomato and Caroline Carrot.
‘We’ve got grape expectations of the show,’ said Tina, ‘but it could be a bit of a squash in the veg tent with such shallot to see!’
It promises to be a lovely, peas-full occasion for all the family,’ added Caroline, who said she was looking forward to returning to her roots.
