The likely course will be over 3/4 mile from West Bay sewer buoy, North towards West Beach and finishing off West Pier. Racing heats will be offered for GRP training and wooden racing boats with staggered starts.
Racing events will preceded by a Guard of Honour for ‘Dagger”. This will be staged outside the outer harbour, clear of the harbour entrance before crews muster at the sewer buoy for the first race.
The programme will conclude with the barbarians forming a cavalcade led by Bridport back to the pontoons. The day will be supported by a safety boat courtesy of Clive Bath, by the Harbour masters from West Bay and Lyme Regis and by Lyme Bay Rib Charter who will offer spectator ribs in the bay.
Hot food and a bar
Hot food and a bar will be available for spectators and competing crews. This event is not staged as a regatta but as a celebration of Bridport’s first racing gig. All crews are welcome to participate in the day. Please come and join us.
