On 13th-15th August get yourselves down to the Salt House in West Bay for 3 free days of family fun. ‘Nature Rocks’ is a fun event that has now been running for several years. This year’s event is organised by Bridport Museum, The Jurassic Coast Team, and MARINELife Conservation. There will be lots of different activities to keep everyone entertained.
The Salt House will be awash with fun activities celebrating our natural environment. Local artist Darrell Wakelam will be getting children to help him create 3D models of dolphins, you will be able to handle fossils and get stuck into lots of craft activities.
MARINElife will be present on all three days with lots of information on marine mammals and seabirds as well as a great tombola for the adults and the children. There will also be MARINElife’s very own ‘spot the Whale blow’ competition.
On Thursday, we will have MARINElife patron Maya Plass (BBC) present, providing children’s activities and a guided walk along the shoreline – tides permitting. We are also very pleased to have local author Sophia Moseley presenting author readings of her ‘Adventures with Charlie’ books, with audience participation.
On the Thursday the Bridport Area Development Trust will be offering tours of the Methodist Chapel and showing visitors the proposed plans for turning it into an interpretation centre.
