Remembrance Parade and Service

Bridport Town Council, on behalf of the Bridport Branch of the Royal British Legion, has made arrangements for this year’s Remembrance Parade and Service, in association with its Parade Commander, Fido Vivian-May, the President of the Bridport Branch.

The Parade will take place on Sunday 13 November and will move off from East Street at approximately 10.30 am. following inspection by the Town Mayor, Cllr Dave Rickard.

The Parade will be followed by the ceremony at the War Memorial, the Church Service at St Mary’s Church and the return parade, concluding in West Street, during which the Mayor will take the salute on Bucky Doo Square.

Many of the town’s uniformed organisations will be represented on the Parade and following the award of the Freedom of the town earlier this year, the Rifles Regiment will be represented with a standard bearer, Rfn Wayne Powell, who lives in West Bay and an escort, Rfn Paul Hallett from Mangerton.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Dave Rickard, said:

“Remembrance Day is always well supported,  by the town’s uniformed organisations on the Parade and members of the public at the War Memorial and it is a privilege to lead the Parade on this important occasion for the town”.
