Friday 3rd August from 11am to 8pm and Saturday 4th August 2007 from 9.30am to 2pm at Shop Unit 1, Tannery Road. Designs are on display for plans to the south west quadrant of Bridport including ideas for the future of the coach station and St Michaels trading estate. Members of the design and planning teams will be available to answer your questions. The project is by Morgan Carey Architects in conjunction with WDDC (see website) and Hayward and Co.
I’m all for some form of mixed development as the area is underutalised BUT as a “”””seed bed”””” for many local businesses are rents going to rise? I’d be interested to see comments from anyone on the site who is afected. Also will be asking if any traffic modelling has taken place as it will put a strain on the junction with West St. This is also an opportunity for the site to interface with the surrounding areas and from the plan above this seems to have been lost?
This is one of the biggest redevelopment plans for years, has anyone got anything to say…….stand up be counted (or roll over and let them kick you)!
St Michaels trading estate deserves to be tarted up a bit
That picture is so vague…it’s like someone demonstrating a new hair-style with a yard broom and nail clippers. How about we stick to Bridport’s Rules and Regulations regarding events out of our control, by waiting until they make a hash of it and THEN whinging about it? Some things should never change…
i disagree (draino 3) i love it down there the way it is, with the reclamation stuff and Riley garage, wildflowers, crumbling brickwork, crumbling people, leave it alone!!!
at risk of being shouted at I do agree with the letter/article in Bridport news that is seems a bit daft to have so many houses on what should be business park but I ‘spose that wud knock the ‘Profit’.Also can anyone explain why council houses were sold off but the money wasn’t used to build more?(yes I probably have been told before but I don’t get it!)
