MOTOR CYCLISTS from around West Dorset will be gathering at The Tiger Inn in Bridport’s Barrack Street on Sunday 19 September for an 85-mile rally ride around the county followed by a fun afternoon back at the pub and it’s all in aid of the RNLI.
Said landlord Graham Taylor, “We hold this event each year. The last run raised over £2000 for the local Breast Cancer support group with some 60 riders. This year we aim to top that amount and attract a far larger group of riders”.
The run covers some 85 miles and will set off after coffee and bacon rolls in the Tiger. A low-loader support vehicle will follow the ‘wild bunch’ and there will be a break along the route for light refreshments at Compton Abbas airfield.
The riders will return at lunchtime when there will be a raffle, live music, a barbeque and promotionally priced beers to which all are welcome. A rolling camera truck will film the ride and this will be shown during the afternoon’s fun and fund raising.
Added Graham Taylor, “All are welcome to help us help the RNLI throughout the day. Anyone wishing to join the ride should contact me on 01308 427543 – the whole day will be friendly and informal and all will be made most welcome”.
