Transition Town Bridport (TTB) is organising a meeting on Thursday 5th March at 7.30 in the WI Hall, North Street, Bridport, to explain the new waste management system and to discuss ways to reduce what we throw away. Kirsten Juniper, from Dorset Waste Partnership will give a talk about the rollout of the new DWP recycling system, and how we can reduce waste, talking about campaigns such as Love Food Hate Waste, the Real Nappy Incentive Scheme, and reducing packaging and junk mail.
The talk will be followed with a discussion on ways that Bridport can tackle this problem, which uses resources unnecessarily and causes pollution and growing mountains of rubbish. .
Tea and coffee, or a glass of wine will be served. Entry £3, or £1 + 2 NETs.
This meeting, is the first of a series of monthly gatherings which TTB plans to hold on or around the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting, on 2 April, will be on the Circular Economy – designing a no-waste system – led by Caroline Walker. This will be followed by a film “The Economics of Happiness” on 14 April.
