In 2011 the Wessex Military Band is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary. To mark this occasion in September a weekend of music making and member reunion has been arranged. It is hoped that you can join the band in its celebrations and will be able to come along to one or two of the events as detailed below.

Friday 2nd September 7.30pm Salisbury City Hall

‘A Journey Through the Years’ Anniversary Concert. Including guest bands, Portlethen & District Pipe Band, South Wales Police Band, Wight Diamonds Marching Band, Gugge 2000 and the Standards of the Royal British Legion
Saturday 3rd September 10.00am – 3.00pm Bucky Doo & South Street, Bridport
Massed Bands will parade up West Street and into South Street between 9.30am and 10.00am.
Each band will then perform three 15 minute sets throughout the day with massed band performances at 11.00am, 1.00pm and 2.30pm.

- There will also be a display of vintage armoured vehicles and Help for Heroes will have a stand.
Saturday 3rd September 7.00pm – midnight The Youth Centre, Gundry Lane, Bridport
live music, disco and barbecue (free event for band members and ex members and their families)
Band reunion and anniversary party.
Ex band members, former associates and their families are invited to a reunion party at which their will be a live band ‘The Dinner Ladies’ and barbecue. Further information available on our Band and Group Facebook pages.
