THE MARKET HOUSE aka Ye Olde Oak!!!! Their publicity suggests that the food available is locally sourced. Well, it is – from the Brake Brothers catering outfit who also supply Colfox School!!!!!!!!!!!1 I don’t think Colfox does much of a line in £21 steaks though. I was told this by Brake’s own regional sales manager!!
We popped in for a couple of pints last Friday out of curiosity. I’d certainly eat elsewhere if I wanted to spend what they’re charging for food. Also, I asked for a bag of peanuts, but was told that they only did mixed nuts. I said ok then, I’d have a bag of mixed nuts. No – they come in a bowl. A BOWL!!! I think I’ll be sticking to The George from now on – a great home cooked meal for a tenner, and peanuts. IN A BAG.
