Never heard of International Folk?
International Folk Dancing is recreational dancing where traditional dances, originating in many different countries, including Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and other Balkan countries; France, Israel and many others from around the world, are taught and performed for pleasure as true to the original as feasible. A few more modern choreographed dances, especially those from Israel, will also be taught.
Partners are not required as most dances will be done in semi-circles.
All dances are taught, and prior knowledge of this type of dancing is not required, though it does help if you enjoy Eastern European and other “foreign” music.
The teacher, Mecki Testroet, is a dance enthusiast who was introduced to international folk dancing in 1985 and who likes to share her enthusiasm and expertise with like-minded people.
