ANIMAL AMBULANCE

Haydon Veterinary Group of Bridport and Lyme Regis launch their purpose built veterinary ambulance – the first in the area. The ambulance, which is fully equipped to respond to emergencies, will be unveiled at 11am on Wednesday, 7th November at Haydon Veterinary Group’s Bridport practice at Gore Cross.

The ambulance will have two main purposes. It will enable a quick and effective response to emergencies, offering animals in critical conditions the best possible care.  There will be a full trauma kit and animal stretcher on board so First Aid can be administered before taking the animal for further treatment or surgery. It will also be used to transport pets from their homes to the practice for appointments in the most comfortable and stress-free way – ideal for owners without cars.

Principal vet at Haydon Veterinary Group, Neal Shaw, says “We are delighted with our brand new ambulance. We can offer a new level of client care, ensuring the safety and well being of animals in emergencies and provide excellent, quality care for pets on their way to the surgery.”

Pets that need to travel from the branch surgery at Lyme Regis to the main surgery in Bridport will also be able to use the service.

The veterinary ambulance will also be available for hire to provide medical support at events where companion animals are present.
