PART OF THE PROCESS

So Waitrose is coming to town and the populace say "They are too expensive" well if you are going to buy prepacked, processed rubbish sure it's expensive. So what's wrong with buying fresh food from local shops? "We haven't got the time" You haven't got the time because you (both parents) are working so you can afford to buy a nice new Chelsea tractor to stuff with prepacked, processed, crap food. Get your priorities right!

Quality Not Quantity

I say to you mouldy Morrisons, Lidl and those other "D" class shops are too cheap. Yes, you can buy a pack of mystery meat and sawdust sausages and a bag of bruised, washed-dirtied potatoes from Israel for two quid. Or you could go to a local shop (let's say Washingpool) and buy succulent, meaty sausages and fresh potatoes both reared in nearby fields for a fiver. Sure it costs more but it's quality over quantity. To make it go further I'm sure a lot of people could do with eating a little less.

Public Convenience

Sure it's convenient to get everything in the same place and fill up your 4×4 at the same time, then I hear people moaning about the price of petrol, its the cheapest thing you can buy at a filling station – Petrol 98p a litre, bottled water 67p for half a litre.

Okay so we do need supermarkets but our reliance on them makes us weak, if the faeces really hits the cooling device we are going to be in trouble, just look at the panic buying that goes on over Christmas  "Omigod, omigod, omigod I better buy 15 loaves of bread because the shops are closed for one day".

Come the revolution I'm going to be eating your corn fed tender bits.

  1. Waitrose is a top quality supermarket and just the job for Bridport. Lets bring the town up a notch or two. Those of us who are clever enough to shop around at the town market and the supermarkets can only benefit. I don’t have a 4×4 but do like access to decent food when i’m entertaining my friends from Kensington and Knightsbridge i mean you wouldn’t want to serve a load of old rubbish from scummerfields would you. Anyway one of the butchers in town wanted £50 plus for a turkey this Christmas past….. So you still think Waitrose is expensive? Most busisnes’s are on the make so lets get quality produce whilst were at it

  2. Justin Light Re read your posting. You have contradicted yourself. Waitrose is over priced plastic wrapping compered to Morrisons and Somerfields. If you want fresh beef/pork/lamb/chickens/turkeys etc, go round to each local butcher and the supermarkets butchers counter. DO NOT USE THE FROZEN aisle. Better still use your local farmers market.
