Boatbuilder Gail McGarva talks about traditional wooden boats and the building of their modern-day ‘daughters’. Last year Gail built a lerret – a working boat wholly native to Lyme Bay.

Stephen Locke, geologist and museum Chairman, discusses Mary Anning’s role in the early palaeontology of Lyme Regis. Organised by Friends of the Museum, the talk follows their AGM – everyone welcome.

Maurice Liddiard and Jon Hosking, chief brewer of Lyme’s Town Mill Brewery, talk about the history of the recently restored Malthouse and beer brewing there – to be followed by a walk to look at the micro-brewing process and a tasting.

THE MAKING OF THE EASTER BUNNY

Rikey Austin and Jo Farmer (featured on Kirstie Allsopp’s TV show Kirstie’s Homemade Home) talk about the history of the Easter rabbit and demonstrate how to make the museum’s own cuddly bunny, Beatrix. An Easter egg hunt follows.
