Wild About Bridport – The Bridport Butterfly Bonanza, 4th June 10am -3pm
The Bonanza, being held by Dorset Wildlife Trust as a celebration of the rich wildlife of West Dorset,will be centred on the Arts Centre and Community Orchard.
There will be activities for all the family and a Grand Parade at 2pm. Activities will include face painting, a butterfly detective trail in the orchard, butterfly tattoos, wildlife information, art exhibition, guided walks, a demonstration wildlife garden and childrens crafts.
In the theatre there will be the chance to help create a giant butterfly that will lead the parade from the Arts Centre to the Orchard, along with local samba band The Magic Drum.
Local businesses are getting involved by creating butterfly displays in their shop windows. There will be refreshments provided in the Orchard by the Kingcombe Centre, and pizza available from Jalopy Pizza, so bring the family and enjoy a picnic in the orchard after taking part in the activities on offer.
