Why was American academic Norman Finkelstein hounded out of his job? Professor Finkelstein, the son of Holocaust survivors and author of The Holocaust Industry, has spoken out for the Palestinians and against Zionism and US Middle East policies. As a result he has lost his job and been attacked in the media.
Prof Finkelstein’s life, views and travels in the Middle East are the subject of American Radical, the Trials of Norman Finkelstein, a documentary to be shown at the Bull Hotel in Bridport on Sunday July 3.
Finkelstein says: ‘It is precisely and exactly because of the lessons my parents taught me and my two siblings that I will not be silenced when Israel commits its crimes against the Palestinians.’
Reviewed as ‘a blood-boiling, very good documentary’ and a film that ‘dares to articulate the key issues in the Jewish Diaspora,’ it is to be shown by Autonomy Films at The Hay Loft (above the Stable Restaurant) at the Bull Hotel, Bridport DT6 3LF, on Sunday July 3 at 7.30pm. Entry £3 (less if you can’t afford that).
