Bridport Leisure Centre is hosting the 2011 Betambeau Awards, which was set up to celebrate the sporting achievements of local youngsters.
The Award commemorates the life of Ronald Betambeau, a local sportsperson who swam and played water polo between the two piers of the old harbour. His legacy was the Betambeau Award.
There are four categories within the awards and these are as follows:
- 6-11 years, Boys
- 6-11 years, Girls
- 12-18 years, Boys
- 12-18 years, Girls
Nominations are made in relation to the student s dedication, enthusiasm for sport despite adversity, as well as their sporting excellence.
We are currently looking for nominations for this award. If you have a youngster in your club that you feel fits the nomination criteria please send me an email address, so that I can email you a nomination form.
