This planning application has now been withdrawn
A planning application has been lodged to use Askers Meadows for “Temporary classroom for courses in traditional skills, dry stone walling and hedge laying and temporary parking for 100 cars on show field on Saturdays and for festivals between July- September”
It is not simply a field it is an ecosystem. Small plants, insects, birds and other animals use it as their habitat, compacting of the soil will also have an effect on the microorganisms in the soil.
The continuing urbanisation of our green spaces will ruin the character of our town.
Screwing with this beautiful place is a wretched thing to do.
What’s wrong with keeping it as a field? Find somewhere else to park – or walk, or take a bus.
