Bowlympic Games alongside the Torch Relay in Dorset
Dorset’s rural touring scheme Artsreach is gearing up for its biggest celebration this summer, building on Dorset’s sporting excitement with a touring Olympic-themed arts production: ‘Bowlympics’ by Bowjangles, following the Torch Relay on its journey around the county.
Artsreach has programmed a unique touring show to mark the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Dorset this month. The remarkable all-singing, all-dancing string quartet Bowjangles wowed audiences with their high-energy performances last December. In the week the Torch Relay traverses Dorset the quartet will follow its route, bringing their very own brand new Bowlympic Games show to nearby venues! A hilarious take on this year’s excitement, Bowjangles attempt fencing, rowing, gymnastics, boxing and more – yes, all whilst playing, singing and dancing, ladies and gentlemen – in an action-packed performance which will delight and exhaust you from your seats.
The exceptionally talented group are popular wherever they go, combining fiery musicianship with energetic dance moves, vaudeville comedy and four-part harmony singing in a dazzling stage show, which guarantees to leave audiences spellbound. Four equally strong personalities, all quirky in their own unique ways, present an incredible and eccentric performance unlike any you have ever seen before, harking back to the good old days of Music Hall variety, when entertainment talent was truly multidimensional.
A favourite at festivals and theatres the world over, Bowjangles have that rare appeal to all ages and walks of life. You just won’t believe what this four piece are capable of! Roll up, roll up – the highly anticipated Bowlympics have arrived!
