A project to stage the musical ‘Chess‘ in Bridport in 2012. Has just launched online, with the official website BeTaken.net
Dates and a venue are yet to be confirmed, but their first choice is the Electric Palace, and there are hopes to coincide the show week with the Olympic sailing events in Weymouth, to offer visitors a chance to see Dorset talent in action.
The show is being produced be a team of experienced techies, coordinated by DJAY Southwest, with an amateur cast and music ensemble to bring this corking 80s rock musical to life, and our goal is to make it the most technically spectacular show in Bridport ever.
Tickets will be available in the Spring, and auditions will most likely take place in early January, but those interested in seeing the show, or getting involved in the cast or crew, can sign up to a mailing list on our website.
Chess has an immense score which received excellent reviews, and we know it will be an exciting and rewarding project to be involved with, so we hope we’ll have plenty of people from the community, particularly Bridport, wanting to audition.
