As part of the inaugural Bridport Open Book Festival, we warmly invite you to take part in Diary of a Day.
So what is it all about?
Diary of a Day is a community writing project open to everyone and we would like as many people as possible to take part.
Its aim is to record what happens in Bridport on 4 October 2011 in the form of a diary. It can be as short or as long as you like, handwritten or done on a computer, illustrated too if you’re feeling artistic – the only stipulation is that it’s anonymous.
Inspired by the Mass Observation projects that began in the 1930’s, Diary of a Day is a way of recording everyday life in the town and the thoughts, activities and daily lives of those that live here. You can make your diary very personal or it can simply be a list of what you did.
The diary entries will be collated into folders and available to read at the arts centre during the Open Book Festival 19 to 26 November.
You can post your entry to us at Bridport Arts Centre, 9 South Street, Bridport DT6 3NR or email it to kate@bridport-arts.com There will also be collection points around the town at:
- – The Book Shop, South Street
- – The Post Office
- – Waterstones
All entries must be received by Tuesday 11 October.
Join us and make an ordinary day extraordinary!
