This Saturday (23rd May) The Book Shop in South Street is pleased to welcome Charles Fuge who will be reading and signing his latest children’s book ‘The Terrible Greedy Fossifoo’.
Charles, 43, lives in Burton Bradstock and works from his studio on St. Michaels Trading Estate. He has illustrated over 40 picture books since 1988 when he won the Macmillan Prize (judged by Quentin Blake and Raymond Briggs) for his first work ‘Bush Vark’s 1st Day Out’ which also won The Mother Goose Award the following year.
Young children and parents alike have been delighted by his detailed and colourful illustrations, with his ‘Little Wombat’ series being very popular.
‘The Terrible Greedy Fossifoo’ is a delightful tale with a simple environmental message, a subject Mr. Fuge is passionate about.
“This book was a labour of love and I am particularly pleased that not only did my publishers agree to print it on FSC monitored paper but we also included a contribution from Rainforest Concern at the beginning.” said Charles.
Ross Hendry, owner of The Book Shop, added “We are very happy to welcome Charles and pleased that, as a local Illustrator, he has chosen a local independent book shop for his launch.”
Mr. Fuge will be at The Book Shop, 14 South Street, from 10.00am to 12noon.
