Sinistre Theatre Company present Playhouse Creatures by April de Angelis. In 1660 Charles II was restored to the throne. He reopened the theatres, which had been dark for over a decade, and women were legitimately allowed to tread the boards for the first time. ‘Playhouse Creatures’ gives us a glimpse into the lives and challenges of these ‘first actresses’ both offstage and on. A funny, erudite and bawdy experience.
