The style, Filete Porteno has a Gypsy, Trompe Loeil, circus like feel to it, with brilliant flamboyant colours, contrasted with light and shade to give it life and jump off the page.

well…. Alfredo Genovese, is coming to Teach an Intensive Introductory FP Signpainting workshop. Would you like to come? Alfredo is very famous in Argentina, and has been commissioned by many of the Global top name brands as well as small local businesses for his talents. He has travelled the world and has been teaching in The University of Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires for 20 or so years and is an incredibly talented visual srtist, teacher, with a playful sense of humour and joyful approach to his work.
Intensive introductory Course
Saturday 6th July 9am-1pm –
Intro via a short projection to the history of FP and some of AG’s work.
A step by step guided drawing practice session, of all the basic symbols used, ie, dragons, flowers, ribbons, buttons, bolts and acanthus leaf scrolls. Alfredo and I will help with layout etc should you feel inspired and want to give drawing your own design a go.
Sunday 7th July 9-1pm
is painting day! Working in acrylics, we will introduce you to painting with signwriting brushes, how to hold, and work with them. To manipulate the bristles to achieve the desired flick, thickness shape etc. It’s great fun and takes practice. So bring a S.O.H and patience with you. After tea we will paint a pre designed panel with Alfredo, which is for you to take away with you. Alfredo is also keen to advize anyone who may have their own design they need some advice with.
