Saturday 7 th – Blue Room Baboons – 9:15pm – The Blue Room Baboons are a funk band like no other! All original material that will appeal to those who like to get down and dirty. Friday 13 th – Zora & The Tatsmiths – 9:15pm – Folk Roots sensations The Tatsmiths burst onto the Brighton music scene in spring 2009. They quickly gained a reputation for their fresh, punk, folk-pop sound and their raw, outspoken and often funny lyrics. They are already firmly on the festival circuit and have played Strawberry Fair, Boomtown and Playgroup and are already confirmed for this years Bearded Theory. See them here.
Saturday 14 th – Wille & The Bandits – 9:15pm – One of the best roots bands around and have now toured with Status Quo twice and opened for Joe Bonamassa as well as John Butler Trio. Wille offers some of the greatest slide guitar played alongside a voice that sounds as if it has been soaked in gravel. Superb!
Monday 16 th – Sunset Café Stompers – 8:15pm – Sunset Cafe Stompers play exciting traditional jazz in the style of the New Orleans pioneers. The band takes its name from the famous night-spot on Chicago’s South Side, owned by Al Capone, where Louis Armstrong once played. Their authentic 1920s seven-piece line-up and distinctive, danceable sound make the Sunset Cafe a popular choice for all kinds of parties, celebrations and events .
Friday 20 th – Scaramoose – 9:15pm – Scaramoose was formed in 2007, born from the meeting of John Gardner, Clive Wade and John Eschbaecher. The three members soon found common ground in a mixture of exciting styles including acoustic, blues, and funk, seeking particular influence from the likes of Ben Harper, G. Love, The John Butler Trio, and Xavier Rudd.
Saturday 21 st – Cuba Libre – 9:15pm – Translates as Rum and Coke, but we’ll just have some punk and reggae from this new band.
Friday 27 th – The Sidekicks – 9:15pm – Established in 2001, The Sidekicks have become one of the most sought after party bands in the south-west. They have an extensive history of playing in a variety of venues from fields, country houses and Roman amphitheatres. They play a variety of good fun party music. See them perform.
Saturday 28 th – Big Red Ass – 9:15pm – They really rocked the first time at The Ropemakers and they promise to get you skanking again this time. Guaranteed to but a smile on your face, blisters on your feet and cider in your hair. Big Red Ass play high energy, brass fronted ska/reggae/cossack that will get you moving. You’ll leave with new dancing friends, lucky as you’ll most likely spill your drink over your current mates. See them here
