Internationally renowned Bristol-based puppet theatre company Pickled Image presents ‘Travels with Granddad’ , transforming four village halls on the Artsreach circuit. Granddad, an eccentric traveller and storyteller extraordinaire, invites us into his battered Bedouin tent to hear magical tales of his adventures in real and imaginary worlds! The Clock That Stopped Time, The Violin Princess and The Most Beautiful Thing in The World are brand new old fashioned fairy tales crafted by Toby Hulse from the imaginations of the children of Bristol. Evocative sound, light and exquisite puppetry create a classic performance to delight the whole family. After the show the audience can create a story based on the bizarre objects in Granddad’s tent… Are you sitting comfortably?!

Alice, Melby and Fidge are three cuddly toys long since loved, left behind and now forgotten in an old attic. Life looks like it’s lost its stuffing until Fidge has a banana-brained plan… Build a rocket ship, blast off, and boldly go where no toy has gone before! But when the ‘Nutjellynana’ reaches outer space Melby is sucked down a black hole, leaving Alice and Fidge to come to his rescue, making new friends along the way. This is Angel Heart’s new show for all the family over 4 years, with amazing puppets, fabulous storytelling, a cosmic soundtrack and some salutes to sci-fi classics!
