This Easter Bridport Museum will fill with local music about the local area, written and performed by local artists!
- Wednesday 30th March, 11:30am: Music with David Powell.
- Friday 1st April, 11.30am: Music with Declan Duffy
- Wednesday 6th April, 11.30am: Music with Chris Deacon
- Wednesday 6th April, 2.30pm: Music with Val Hall and David Tizzard.
- Friday 8th April, 11.30am: Music with Val Hall and David Tizzard
David Powell was the headteacher of Burton Bradstock School between 1990 and 2012. He was inspired by the poetry of Burton resident Douglas Northover to develop songs that would allow local children to better understand their heritage. The songs draw upon the farming, fishing and milling life of the folk that lived and worked in the Bride Valley, some of which is still evident today. He believes that it is only by understanding our past we can truly find our place in the present and plan ethically for our future.
Val Hall and David Tizzard sing songs about the local area. Val remembers the words, David remembers the chords and together they are known as Fragment!
Courtyard Sessions are free small events held at Bridport Museum, either in our courtyard or, if the weather is bad, downstairs in the Museum.
